No wasted hay all winter
This winter feeding horses was easy — 4 round bale hay nets set around our 40 acres worked wonders, horses traveled around to the bales and no wasted hay. Super product!
The NAG Bag Mid-Day Bag is a slow feed hay net with an approximate four-to-six-flake capacity. It sits between the Hanging Bag and the larger Day Bag in the range.
Match the net opening and capacity to your hay and feeding setup. Follow the manufacturer's fitting and use instructions. Flake size and weight vary, so the stated capacity is approximate.
Also compare our Day Bag for a larger capacity.

When introducing slow hay feeding for the first time, always put out some loose hay alongside the NAG Bag for the first week. This gives your animal a chance to learn how to graze from the net naturally, at their own pace, and reduces the chance of frustration or net damage early on.
We use these nets in our own barn. Here's what actually matters after five winters of pasture use — not marketing points, real ones.
Too small and you're out there refilling at midnight. Too big and hay goes everywhere. The Mid-Day Bag hits the sweet spot — four to six flakes in one fill means your horse has steady access to forage all day or overnight without you making extra trips to the barn.
Hard knotted nets can be rough on a horse's lips and face, especially over hours of grazing. The soft knotless nylon blend used in the Mid-Day Bag is designed for extended contact — durable enough to last years, gentle enough that horses take to it quickly and willingly.
A horse's digestive system is built for trickle feeding — small amounts, all the time. Dumping a pile of loose hay and walking away is the opposite of that. The Mid-Day Bag gives your horse a natural foraging rhythm that supports gut health, reduces acid exposure, and keeps them calmer and more content between visits.
With a lifespan of three to five years under regular use, this is a net you buy once and count on. The knitted nylon blend holds up to daily loading, moisture, mud, and the kind of determined horses that test every piece of equipment you own. Any minor tears are also easy to repair without replacing the whole bag.
One size doesn't fit all — not your horse, and not your hay. The Mid-Day Bag comes in 1", 1.5", 1.5" W, 2", and 2.75" hole sizes so you can dial in the right consumption speed for your specific animal and situation. Each bag also includes a strand of twine and toggle, so you're ready to hang it right out of the box.
