Trailer Bag — Travel & Barn Slow Feeder | Nag Bags

If your horse gets anxious on the trailer, bolts their hay the second you load up, or arrives at shows already worked up — a big part of that is the gap in forage access during travel. Horses are designed to trickle feed almost continuously, and even a few hours with nothing to do and nothing to eat shows up in their behavior. The Trailer Bag gives them something healthy to work through the whole trip, at a pace that keeps them calm, busy, and as relaxed as a horse in a trailer can be.

At home it works just as well. Hang one in the stall, drop one in a tub, or set a few around the paddock to encourage movement — it adapts to however you manage your horses' feeding setup. The knotless netting is gentle on muzzles, the included twine and toggle make it easy to hang anywhere, and the five mesh sizes mean you're not guessing at what's right for your animal. If you're dealing with ulcers, stocking up from boredom, fence chewing, or a horse that tends to bolt their food, this is worth trying before you reach for anything else.

These are hand assembled and built to last. Customers regularly get three to five years out of a Trailer Bag with normal use — which, given what hay nets go through in a working barn, says a lot about the construction. If you're not sure which mesh size fits your horse and your hay type, reach out. We're happy to talk it through before you order.

Voices From The Barnyard

Testimonials from some of our favorite people.

  • We are no longer wasting 20 to 30 percent of a bale. One person can change out the bale. These feeders are tough but light. There is absolutely no downside to these feeders.

  • I love mine! It’s easy to use and durable. We’ve had the system for two years now and no sign of wear. I’m petite and can move it myself no problem.

    Poly Hay Ring Review
  • Truth! My horse had an abscess last year that I could not seem to get rid of (kept coming back for weeks). Strathcona Ventures suggested sirocco and it worked!

    Karen Sundquist
    Sirocco Review
  • We use the Sirocco deodorizer underneath which gives the stall a pleasant smell and continues to do so. We now use a fraction of the amount of shavings spreading them mainly around the edges.

    Alison Drew
    Sirocco Review
  • We have been boarding horses for over 25years, and every once in a while, something comes along that reinvents the wheel. These mats are one of those things.
