Finally, hay lasts all day
Two Quarter horses in a paddock, used to burn through a bale in 8 hours. Now it's a full day and a half. Holes are the right size and the rope hasn't frayed after six months.
If you're still tossing loose hay into a corner and watching half of it end up trampled and wasted, the EZ Fill is going to change your routine. It holds five to six flakes, mounts wherever you need it, and loads in seconds from outside the stall or paddock — no tying, no complicated setup, just hay in the net and done. The knotless nylon netting is built to handle daily use for years, and every feeder ships with the hardware you need to get it up and running the same day it arrives.
The people who benefit most from this feeder are the ones doing it all themselves — the home barn owner with four horses and a full-time job, the boarding facility manager who needs feeding to go fast without cutting corners, the competitor who needs something reliable at shows and on the road. Wherever your horses eat, this mounts right there with them: wall, fence, stall front, or tree. Place a few around the paddock and you'll even encourage more movement between feeding spots.
The four net hole sizes mean you're not stuck with a one-size-fits-all solution. Match the mesh to your horse, your hay type, and your goals — whether that's slowing down an easy keeper, supporting a horse recovering from ulcers, or just keeping hay where it belongs instead of on the ground. If you're not sure which size is right, reach out and we'll walk you through it.
Installation:
1. Choose your mounting location — wall, stall front, fence rail, or tree all work well. 2. Position the EZ Fill at a comfortable head height for your horse. Lower is better for natural foraging posture. 3. Secure with zip ties using the poly pex piping, hose clamps, and connector included in the box. No tools needed for most mounts.
Loading: Push hay through the front of the net from outside the stall or paddock. Five to six flakes load easily with the push-through method. No tying or unhooking required.
Introducing your horse to slow feeding: For the first week, offer loose hay alongside the EZ Fill so your horse gets used to pulling from the net without frustration. This also reduces the chance of net damage during the adjustment period. Once they've got the hang of it, most horses actually prefer the net.
Care: Rinse with water as needed. The knotless nylon netting holds up well to weather and daily contact. Check periodically for wear, especially if your horse is persistent or shod. All nets include a strand of twine and toggle.
Choosing the right net hole size matters more than most people expect. The right mesh slows consumption without frustrating your horse — too small and you'll have a miserable animal, too big and you're not getting much benefit. Here's how to think through it:

We use these nets in our own barn. Here's what actually matters after five winters of pasture use — not marketing points, real ones.
No reaching in, no wrestling with a gate. The EZ Fill's push-through loading design lets you stuff it from outside the stall or paddock — clean, quick, and safe. Five to six flakes go in fast and you're on to the next one.
Wood walls, metal bars, pole fencing, trees — this net goes wherever you need it. Zip-tie it into place using the included hardware and it stays put. If your setup changes, moving it takes about thirty seconds.
Continuous access to hay keeps stomach acid buffered, stress levels down, and horses occupied with something natural. The research on trickle feeding is solid — and the difference you'll see in your horses' temperament and digestion backs it up.
A 1" net for minis and easy keepers, 1.5" for most horses and donkeys, 2" for working horses and hard keepers, and 2.75" for large breeds or colder months. Getting the mesh size right makes all the difference in how well this works for your specific animal.
Knotless nylon blend netting, hand-assembled, and rated for a 3–5 year lifespan with normal use. No knots means no weak points where the net breaks down under a persistent horse. Every net ships with a strand of twine and toggle included.

Ordered on a Tuesday, showed up Friday. Clips haven't rusted through one freeze-thaw yet, which is more than I can say for the last two I bought from a chain feed store.
Uncle Jeeter was right about the 1¾" holes — I started with 1¼" and my mare just walked away. Switched up and she's happy. Would buy again.
