Not one pound of feed wasted
These feeders are amazing! There is not one pound of feed wasted. We are no longer wasting 20 to 30 percent of a bale. One person can change out the bale. There is absolutely no downside to these feeders.
The whole round bale, inside a slow-feed net, with no feeder to buy. The NAG Bag Round Bale Bag is a full bag the bale sits inside. Tip the bale, work the bag over it, stand it up, and the herd eats through the mesh instead of pulling flakes out and standing on them.
1.5" for most horses, 2" for bigger horses or coarse hay, 2.75" for cattle and drafts. The mesh guide has the full table.
On the ground the bag still gets stood on and wet. If you have four or more head, or a loader, a poly ring with a Net Topper keeps the bale off the ground and lasts longer. We wrote up the whole comparison in Best Round Bale Feeders in Canada.
Hand-assembled knotless nylon-blend netting, made in Canada. Ships from Sherwood Park, Alberta.
We use these nets in our own barn. Here's what actually matters after five winters of pasture use — not marketing points, real ones.
Reduces hay loss by up to 50% vs loose feeding. Pays for itself inside a season.
Gives bolt-eaters 2–4× the chew time. Better for gut health, quieter stalls.
Marine-grade galvanized clips. Tested through five Alberta winters without pitting.
Hose it down, hang it dry. Comes clean, goes back up.
Hand-tied 6mm knotless polyester. Five-year warranty on the stitching.

I absolutely love the bagged straw. No smell in the barn this morning. Only 15 minutes to muck out our 36-stall barn with only one tractor tow-behind cart versus two. Thank you for all your help.
If you are considering replacing your mats, or putting mats in anywhere for the first time, seriously consider these SilverTec mats. We have been boarding horses for over 25 years, and every once in a while something comes along that reinvents the wheel.
Our poly ring and net are into their 4th winter of use and still going strong. Best. Setup. EVER!
