Description

If stall management is taking more time and effort than it should, bedding is usually part of the problem. Wet, thin, or poor-quality bedding breaks down fast, lets moisture reach the floor, and turns a routine clean-out into a full strip every time. Premium Pine Shavings are built specifically to hold up under daily use — high absorbency pulls moisture away from the surface, low dust keeps the air cleaner, and a cushioned footing keeps your horses comfortable between cleans.

This bedding works whether you're running a single stall or managing a busy barn. It spreads evenly, holds its structure, and does the job it's supposed to do without needing to be babied. Horses that spend extended time stalled benefit the most — the moisture management between clean-outs reduces ammonia buildup and keeps the stall smelling fresher for longer. It also works well for livestock pens and poultry coops if you're housing other animals alongside your horses.

The bagged format makes handling and storage straightforward. Stack them where it's convenient, grab what you need, and get in and out of the barn faster. If you've been fighting a stall that never quite dries out or burning through bedding faster than you'd like, this is worth switching to. Not sure if shavings are the right call for your setup versus straw? Give us a call — we're happy to help you figure out what makes sense for your barn.

How to Use

Start with a clean, dry stall floor. Spread shavings evenly to a depth of at least 4 to 6 inches for solid moisture management — thinner than that and the bedding breaks down faster and moisture hits the floor sooner than it should.

For daily maintenance, remove soiled patches and add fresh shavings as needed to maintain depth. Top up rather than waiting for a full strip-out — keeping a consistent base means the absorbency stays working longer between changes.

For a full clean-out, remove all old bedding, allow the floor to dry, and re-bed from scratch. This is also a good time to check the floor surface for any moisture damage or wear.

Size Guide

Simply Shavings comes in three order sizes depending on how much bedding you go through:

Bag — Good for a single stall or topping up between deliveries.

Pallet — The standard choice for a small barn or a handful of stalls on a regular bedding schedule.

Truckload — For boarding barns, training facilities, or any operation bedding enough stalls that per-bag pricing stops making sense.

Not sure how much you'll go through? Tell us how many stalls and how often you clean out, and we'll help you land on the right order size.

WHAT MAKES IT WORTH IT

Why it's built different

We bed our own stalls with this. Here's what actually matters after a few hundred muck-outs — not marketing points, real ones.

Stays Drier, Longer

Stays Drier, Longer

The absorbency in these shavings works hard between clean-outs, pulling moisture away from the surface and holding it so your horse isn't standing on wet footing. That means less ammonia buildup, less odor, and fewer full strip-outs.

Low Dust Where It Counts

Low Dust Where It Counts

Enclosed barns trap everything — dust included. These shavings are processed to keep dust low, which means cleaner air for your horses, your livestock, and you. Especially important for horses with any respiratory sensitivity.

Soft Underfoot

Soft Underfoot

Horses spend a lot of time standing. Comfortable footing makes a difference in how they rest, how their legs hold up, and how they feel the next morning. These shavings give a cushioned, supportive surface that holds its structure.

Spreads Clean and Even

Spreads Clean and Even

Good bedding should go where you put it and stay there. These shavings spread consistently without clumping, so you get solid, even coverage across the whole stall — no bare patches, no over-packing in corners.

Built for Real Barn Life

Whether you're managing one horse or a full facility, this bedding performs the same way every time. It works for horse stalls, livestock pens, and poultry coops — durable enough for heavy use, easy enough to make barn chores less of a battle.

What folks are saying

★★★★★
Not one pound of feed wasted

These feeders are amazing! There is not one pound of feed wasted. We are no longer wasting 20 to 30 percent of a bale. One person can change out the bale. There is absolutely no downside to these feeders.

Best product yet

I absolutely love the bagged straw. No smell in the barn this morning. Only 15 minutes to muck out our 36-stall barn with only one tractor tow-behind cart versus two. Thank you for all your help.
