I'm setting up a slow feeder for the first time — do I need this kit?

If you're using a poly ring feeder with a NAG Bag Net Topper, yes — this kit is what holds the netting frame in place on the ring. Without it, the net doesn't have a proper mount and won't sit correctly over the bale. \

Can I use this kit with a 4 ft ring?

A:The pipe kit only come in one size for the 7’ Poly Ring Feeder. But thats great, we give you an extra 12” of pipe just incase. Order the piping kit and cut to fit. The pipe kit is a universal size designed specifically for the 7' Poly Ring Feeder. We've included an extra 12" of pipe to ensure a perfect fit. Simply order the kit and cut the pipe to the required length. \

Will the zip ties hold up outside in all weather?

Yes. The kit is designed for outdoor use and holds up to normal barn conditions year-round. If a zip tie ever lets go after extended use, they're easy to replace with standard hardware store zip ties in the same gauge. \

Is this the same as buying a new poly ring with netting?

Not quite — the pipe kit is an add-on for feeders you already have. If you're starting from scratch, you'd want to look at the full Adjustable Poly Hay Ring Feeder, which comes with the ring, netting, and everything included. The pipe kit is for people who already have a ring and want to add or upgrade their netting mount. \

How long does installation take?

Most people have it done in five to ten minutes. The pipe, connector, and zip ties go together without special tools, and the Net Topper clips on once the frame is in place. \

Can I order multiple kits for multiple feeders?

Does the pipe kit work with the NAG Bag 2.75" netting for cattle?

Yes. The pipe kit mounts the Net Topper frame onto the ring regardless of which mesh size you're using. Just make sure you're pairing it with a Net Topper designed for round bale use, and that the 2.75" net is placed inside a feeder as recommended. \

Do I need a new pipe kit if I replace my netting?

No. The pipe kit stays with the feeder — you only replace the netting. When your Net Topper wears out, you just swap in a new one onto the existing pipe frame. \

Is this a good option for a DIY feeder build?
