Description

If you've ever tried to tape around a fetlock, a tendon sheath, or a small joint on a dog's leg and ended up with tape going everywhere it wasn't supposed to, you already know why width matters. The 3 cm tape gives you enough to work with without the overlap problem that wider rolls create in tighter areas. It's the precision tool in the VetKinTape lineup — not because it's limited, but because some applications genuinely call for narrower, more targeted placement.

This is the tape that equine therapists and rehabilitation professionals reach for when they need accuracy. Whether that's supporting a specific tendon, working a detailed pattern around a joint, or taping a smaller animal altogether, the 3 cm width makes the work cleaner and more intentional. The adhesive is designed for animal hair and skin, which is a real difference from anything you'd find at a pharmacy. It holds through movement, through sweat, and through the daily reality of barn and kennel life.

The roll cuts easily to whatever length or shape your taping pattern calls for. Like all kinesiology tape, it works best when applied with proper technique — if you're new to taping, a quick session with an equine physiotherapist or rehab vet is worth your time. Not sure if the 3 cm is the right width for your situation? We're happy to talk it through.

How to Use

Make sure the coat and skin are clean and completely dry before applying — dirt or moisture will reduce adhesion. Measure and cut your tape to the appropriate length or pattern for the taping technique you're using. Apply the tape along the target area — muscle, tendon, or joint — using the tension appropriate for the technique. Smooth the tape firmly from end to end to activate the heat-sensitive adhesive. Check the area after the first hour and again after the first full day to make sure the tape is sitting correctly and there are no signs of irritation. Remove carefully if you see any skin irritation, rubbing, or the animal showing signs of discomfort.

Proper taping technique makes a significant difference in how well the tape performs. If you're learning kinesiology taping for the first time, working with a veterinarian, equine physiotherapist, or trained therapist is the best place to start.

Size Guide

VetKinTape comes in three widths. This roll is 3 cm — Tendons, smaller muscles, smaller joints, dogs and smaller animals, precision taping patterns.

3 cm — Tendons, smaller muscles, smaller joints, dogs and smaller animals, precision taping patterns.

6 cm — General muscle and joint support, the most versatile all-around width.

10 cm — Large muscle groups: back, shoulder, hindquarters, broad coverage, multi-strip fan cuts.

The 3 cm roll can be cut lengthwise into narrower strips if a technique calls for it. Not sure which width is right for your situation? Reach out via chat or phone — we are happy to help.

WHAT MAKES IT WORTH IT

Why it's built different

We tape our own horses with this system. Here's what actually matters when it has to stay on through real work — not marketing points, real ones.

Precision Where It Counts

The 3 cm width gives you control that wider tape simply can't. When you're working around a tendon, a small joint, or a sensitive area, a narrower tape lets you place support exactly where it's needed without covering surrounding tissue you don't want taped.

Built for Fur, Not Skin

Standard kinesiology tape is designed for human skin. VetKinTape uses an adhesive formulated specifically for animal hair and skin, which behaves very differently. That means better contact, better hold, and a lot less frustration when you're trying to keep tape on a moving horse.

Support That Moves With the Animal

Unlike rigid wraps or bandages that hold a joint still, kinesiology tape stretches with the body. Your horse, dog, or patient moves naturally while the tape provides the supportive tension along the targeted area. That's the whole point of the technology.

Breathable All Day

The cotton construction lets air circulate under the tape so the skin and coat underneath can breathe. No moisture buildup, no heat trapping — just comfortable support during stalling, turnout, or active work.

A Tool the Professionals Reach For

Equine physiotherapists, rehabilitation vets, and trained trainers include kinesiology tape in their programs for a reason. The 3 cm width in particular is a go-to for detailed applications where accuracy matters more than coverage.

Not one pound of feed wasted

These feeders are amazing! There is not one pound of feed wasted. We are no longer wasting 20 to 30 percent of a bale. One person can change out the bale. There is absolutely no downside to these feeders.

Best product yet

I absolutely love the bagged straw. No smell in the barn this morning. Only 15 minutes to muck out our 36-stall barn with only one tractor tow-behind cart versus two. Thank you for all your help.
