Finally, hay lasts all day
Two Quarter horses in a paddock, used to burn through a bale in 8 hours. Now it's a full day and a half. Holes are the right size and the rope hasn't frayed after six months.
Most orders deliver in 2–4 business days. Round bales and bulk mats ship LTL; you'll get a call to book a window.
If you've ever watched a horse struggle to get up off a hard concrete floor, or noticed your horse spending less time lying down than he should, the floor is usually part of the problem. The Equilibria Stall Mattress was designed to fix that. The 1-1/4" rubber construction uses an engineered cone system on the underside to create real cushioning beneath the surface — the kind that distributes weight evenly, reduces pressure points, and makes lying down and getting up easier on joints and soft tissue. The pebble-top surface handles traction, so your horse has confident footing at every angle.
This mattress is a good fit for performance horses in active training, horses coming off injury or surgery, senior horses that need extra joint support, and any barn where stall comfort is a priority. It also works well in boarding and layup situations where horses spend extended time in the stall. Because the mattress provides its own cushioning layer, most owners find they can run with less bedding on top — which means lower ongoing costs without compromising comfort.
These are built to stay. Vulcanized rubber at this thickness holds up to daily use across seasons without breaking down, and the construction stays consistent over time rather than compressing flat like lighter mats — and every mattress is backed by a 7-year manufacturer warranty. Single mattress sizes are available to fit standard stall configurations. Due to their size and weight, stall mattresses ship by freight — add to your cart and we'll reach out with a custom delivery quote within one business day.
Clean the stall floor thoroughly and allow it to dry before laying the mattress. Place mattress cone-side down, pebble-side up. Fit snugly to the stall walls to minimize gaps where debris can accumulate underneath. A thin layer of shavings or straw on top is typical — enough to absorb moisture and allow horses to dig and paw naturally, but you won't need the depth required with a bare concrete floor. For multi-stall installations, butt mattresses tight to minimize seams. Rinse or sweep the surface as needed during regular stall cleaning.
Measure your stall interior dimensions before ordering — length and width from wall to wall. Standard North American stalls are typically 10x10 ft or 12x12 ft, but actual dimensions vary. If your stall falls between standard sizes, contact us and we can help you find the right configuration or discuss whether trim-to-fit options apply.

We've laid these floors in our own barn. Here's what actually matters after years of hooves, wheelbarrows, and wash-downs — not marketing points, real ones.
Standard rubber mats give you a hard, flat surface. The Equilibria Stall Mattress uses an engineered cone structure on the underside to create genuine cushioning — a soft yet resilient air-cushion effect — so your horse is standing and resting on support, not just rubber over concrete.
The textured top surface gives horses confident footing whether they're shifting weight, getting up, or moving around the stall. No slipping, no scrambling — just a stable surface they can trust.
Because the mattress itself provides cushioning and insulation, most owners find they need significantly less shavings or straw on top. The floor does more of the work, so your bedding goes further.
This isn't a thin mat that cracks after a season. Each mattress is a single piece of vulcanized rubber — 72 by 48 inches, 1-1/4 inches thick, roughly 124 pounds — dense, resilient, and designed to take years of daily barn life without breaking down, warping, or compressing flat.
The cushioning isn't a marketing claim — it's been independently tested for deformability (10.1 mm in DLG testing), and the mattress is backed by a 7-year manufacturer warranty. The underside frame also keeps dirt from collecting beneath the bed between deep cleans.
Performance barns, training facilities, and boarding operations use these specifically because stall comfort affects rest, recovery, and long-term soundness. Horses that rest better perform better — it's that straightforward.

Ordered on a Tuesday, showed up Friday. Clips haven't rusted through one freeze-thaw yet, which is more than I can say for the last two I bought from a chain feed store.
Uncle Jeeter was right about the 1¾" holes — I started with 1¼" and my mare just walked away. Switched up and she's happy. Would buy again.
